expertly informed online safety

Impero Education Pro is compliant with the UK Safer Internet Centre’s ‘appropriate monitoring’ provider checklist.

Designed in response to UK Government requirements, such as the Prevent duty and the Department for Education’s Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance (KCSiE), Impero Education Pro’s state-of-the-art safeguarding software helps schools to fulfil their legal duty of care around online safety and safeguarding. This best practice approach to safeguarding in schools, including active monitoring and logging incident captures to provide contextual insight, helps schools to identify potential risk, respond before an incident escalates, and educate students about responsible online behaviour.

We’ve also created a free online safety handbook, featuring a best practice framework for implementing active monitoring in schools and expert advice from our online safety partners.

the first to respond to the changing online safety landscape

Our safeguarding software has been developed in partnership with charities and specialist organisations from across the globe, including the internationally-recognised IWF and SafeBAE, a charity founded by sexual assault survivors who appeared in the NETFLIX documentary Audrie & Daisy. This is why Impero is trusted by schools, MATs and local authorities across the UK to fulfil safeguarding requirements and, ultimately, protect their students online. Fully integrated into the broader Impero Education Pro package, our intuitive and expertly informed online safety feature works seamlessly alongside the software’s network admin and classroom control tools.

our best practice approach

Impero Education Pro is built around a best practice approach to safeguarding in schools, in line with Ofsted and ISI’s ‘managed approach’ to online safety.

First we research safeguarding issues (from adult content, counter-radicalisation, LGBT derogatory language to grooming, race and religious hatred, sexting, suicide and more), by working with our online safety partners, to inform our keyword libraries; then Impero Education Pro’s online safety feature monitors, captures and logs instances of safeguarding risk to provide the context. School staff are alerted to this flagged activity and are empowered to discuss safeguarding concerns, offer counter narratives and intervene before an incident escalates. This enables schools to safeguard students by educating them to understand the risks and how to behave responsibly online.

key features

provides contextual insight

Identifying potentially vulnerable students at risk from harm, school staff can consider concerning online activity in line with a student’s previous online practices (by accessing the historical log) and wider offline behaviour.

promotes good digital citizenship

Providing access enables young people to learn how to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, while sophisticated monitoring tools offer a safety net empowering staff to intervene where necessary - before an incident escalates.

keeps students safe

Adopting both a proactive and reactive approach to online safety, Education Pro’s online safety feature offers an effective way to identify risk through real-time monitoring and by giving vulnerable students a voice via the Confide tool.

supports best practice

Developed in line with a ‘whole school’ best practice approach to online safety in schools, an advanced notification management suite for incident handling & activity logs helps to evidence safeguarding issues and educate/involve the whole school community.

improves relationships

Identifying safeguarding issues or patterns of behaviour provides the opportunity for staff to open up dialogues with students, helping to promote respect and good digital behaviour. The Confide anonymous reporting tool enables students to confidentially report safeguarding concerns they may have regarding themselves or others.

helps fulfil legal obligations

Designed in response to UK government statutory guidance, including the Prevent duty and the Department for Education’s Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance, Education Pro’s online safety feature helps schools to fulfil their legal duty of care.
