expertly informed internet safety

Impero Education Pro’s state-of-the-art internet safety feature supports compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) by providing an additional layer of monitoring over traditional blocking and filtering.

Focused on fostering a culture of good digital citizenship in schools, Impero Education Pro’s internet safety software feature helps schools and districts to educate students how to behave responsibly online and what it means to be a “good digital citizen”. Real-time monitoring, incident captures and a log of all student activity flags up potentially harmful or inappropriate behavior, empowering educators to safeguard as necessary. This best practice approach to internet safety in schools, including logging incident captures to provide contextual insight, also helps schools and districts to identify potential risk, respond before an incident escalates, and educate students about responsible online behavior.

We’ve also created a free online safety handbook, featuring a best practice framework for implementing active monitoring in schools and expert advice from our internet safety partners.

the first to respond to the changing internet safety landscape

Our internet safety feature has been developed in partnership with charities and specialist organizations from across the globe, including the internationally-recognised IWF and SafeBAE, a charity founded by sexual assault survivors who appeared in the NETFLIX documentary Audrie & Daisy. This is why Impero is trusted by school districts across the United States to support internet safety and promote good digital citizenship. Fully integrated into the broader Impero Education Pro package, our intuitive and expertly informed internet safety feature works seamlessly alongside the software’s network admin and classroom control tools.

our best practice approach

Impero Education Pro is built around a best practice approach to safeguarding in schools, centered on creating good digital citizens through real-time monitoring as opposed to simply blocking.

First we research safeguarding issues (from adult content, counter-radicalization, LGBT derogatory language to grooming, race and religious hatred, sexting, suicide and more) to inform our keyword libraries; then Education Pro’s internet safety feature monitors, captures and logs instances of safeguarding risk to provide the context. School staff are alerted to this flagged activity and are empowered to discuss safeguarding concerns, offer counter narratives an intervene before an incident escalates. This enables schools to safeguard students by educating them to understand the risks and how to behave responsibly online.
