Top 3 Impero Education Pro features highlighted at NDATL Fall Conference
20th October 2016
From FETC, to TCEA, to ISTE, Impero has trekked to all the big education technology conferences and tradeshows across the US and the globe. So, when the opportunity to attend a smaller, state-focused conference came about, we jumped on the chance. From warm sunny California, where autumn is just a time on the calendar, we travelled all the way to North Dakota (a frosty 40 degrees in October!) for the ND Association of Technology Leaders Fall Conference, or NDATL.
With only a handful of vendors on the show floor, the most rewarding part of attending NDATL for Impero was the meaningful conversations that were able to be had with show attendees. Among these guests, customers gave some feedback Impero Education Pro features they’re currently using most, and why they’re so helpful. Here are some of the highlights:
- Network management: Track device activity
Impero Education Pro provides reports of when a computer or handheld device was last used, and who was using it. This provides administrators with the ability to track issues such as device damage. For example, if upon entering a computer lab first thing in the morning, a teacher learns that a desktop keyboard is broken, a report will show who used that computer last the previous day. The culprit of the damage is then determined and necessary action can be taken.
- Classroom management: Chromebook locking function
Impero Education Pro allows an administrator or instructor to lock all functionality of one or all Chromebooks in a lab or classroom at the click of a button. This allows the educator to quickly get all students’ attention, or get one student back on track in a jiffy.
- Internet safety management: Saving student’s lives
As somberly illustrated in Impero’s recent video “Don’t Just Block it”, Education Pro users confirmed the necessity of the keyword library functionality. This feature detects key terms and phrases that could indicate potentially harmful issues such as bullying, eating disorders, racial and religious hatred, suicide, weapons, violence and more. Customers confirmed that far above the importance of convenient network and classroom management features, the need for keeping students safe from dangers online is imperative to educators and community alike.
Our hats off to the North Dakota Association of Technology Leaders for putting on such an organized, informative, and enjoyable conference. See you next year!
