See what we learnt at this year’s ISTE conference
Another year and another ISTE conference has been and gone, with our Impero team touching down in San Antonio Texas to share their knowledge and showcase our array of products. This includes our new MDM solution, Impero EdLink, alongside our add-on reporting module, Impero Insight, available with our flagship product Impero Education Pro. And on that note, we thought it best to share with you what we learnt on our travels!
a rise in MDM solutions
As we all know mobile technology often acts as a double-edged sword in the classroom environment; its ability to encourage learning through its interactive nature is fantastic, however, at times, can often act as a distraction for students. And with the rise in BYOD across schools and districts, it was no surprise to hear that our visitors are turning to mobile device management (MDM) solutions to ensure their students remain on task in the classroom and, most importantly, safe on the online world.
Numerous conversations also indicated that several schools are using multiple MDM solutions to ensure different devices and platforms are protected and are able to be monitored. With this in mind, we only thought it fitting to offer a demonstration of our cross platform MDM solution, Impero Edlink, which provides an array of tools to control both school-owned or personal mobile devices. Impero EdLink empowers schools to manage access to applications and online content, report on user activity and device usage, and enable or disable settings – in line with the school’s acceptable use policies.
a number of guest speakers
With more than 21,000 attendees visiting this year’s ISTE conference, sharing the same Edtech passion and values with that of Impero, we only thought it fitting to share some best practice advice and discuss digital citizenship with our exhibitors. And to help us do so, we were delighted to be invited to take part in a speaking panel, ‘Creating holistic culture of digital citizenship in your school’, where visitors heard from our CEO, Sam Pemberton, CEO of the Digital Citizenship Institute (and an online safety partner of Impero), Dr Marialice B.F.X. Curran, alongside Mike Ribble and Dr. Jason Ohler. We were also excited to host mother and son duo Marialice and Curran, offering some best practice advice and knowledge on our stand regarding Digital Citizenship.
a chance for a catch up
This year’s ISTE conference also provided us with an opportunity to have some great conversations with our existing customers and partners. Providing us with some fantastic feedback about how our customers are using our flagship product, Impero Education Pro helps teachers to manage their classroom and keep their students on task; keeps IT teams happy as our solution ‘makes their job easier’ and, of course, online safety functionality keeps students safe. It’s clear that our software is transforming the digital learning experience at schools and districts across the US. Why not take a look yourself and find out the benefits Impero Education Pro has afforded Richmond County Public schools here?
Overall, this year’s ISTE conference was a great experience and facilitated some great conversations with an array of educators. We shared our classroom management, network management and online safety solution Impero Education Pro, alongside our add-on module, Impero Insight, and our MDM solution Impero EdLink. Until next year!
