internet safety enhanced through Impero’s partnership with the Internet Watch Foundation
20th June 2013
It has been a positive week for both the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and for Impero. Following a meeting chaired by the Culture Secretary, it was revealed that the charity will be provided with greater powers and better support from the UK government to enable a new proactive approach in their activities. And as of today, Impero is proud to announce that we have joined forces with the IWF in the fight against the availability of criminal child sexual abuse content online. The IWF provides a host of resources, which will help Impero to maximise the internet safety feature within its network management software.
With the next generation of students growing up fully immersed in technology, not only does the demand for identity management and internet safety procedures become increasingly imperative, but the opportunity to abuse the internet through the distribution of indecent material becomes, frighteningly, increasingly easier. Young users are consistently vulnerable to an array of internet safety risks from cyberbulling and grooming, to influences of unwelcome persuasion. And whilst it is important to embrace the endless opportunities that technology in education can offer, it is also vital that we ensure our young users are safeguarded in their online activities.
internet safety as a shared vision
As an organization dedicated, at our core, to supporting schools with protection for children in a digital learning environment, we are excited by the services our membership with the IWF now arms us with. Together, this partnership will serve to enhance the support and protection we provide to schools, fuelling a safer environment in classrooms nationwide.
