Impero Software announces Richard Fuller will become CEO from early 2018, as Sam Pemberton transitions to an advisory board position
Nottingham, 27th November 2017 – Following the £27.5 million transaction with Investcorp Technology Partners in August, Impero Software is delighted to formally welcome Richard Fuller on board as he transitions to become Impero’s new CEO from early 2018 and drives the next phase of business growth. This announcement comes as current CEO, Sam Pemberton finalises his plans to switch to a non-executive board position, after several years leading the company to success.
Richard Fuller is an Operating Executive at Investcorp Technology Partners, and was heavily involved in the due diligence of Impero Software earlier this year. During that process Richard got to know the business well, having been brought in to take over from Sam. This move follows many months of Sam and Richard working alongside one another to ensure an entirely smooth transition.
Richard brings with him a wealth of global experience, particularly business development and strategic consultancy in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. On the move, Richard says: “I am very much looking forward to picking up where Sam left off in terms of driving this business forward. Sam has developed Impero into a leading force in educational software, with tremendous opportunities for growth in international markets. I am delighted Sam will be staying on at Impero as a Board Director so we can continue to benefit from his experience. Looking forward, I’m keen to spend more time with Impero’s customers to really understand where they think we could add further value to their schools. We are all extremely excited about the increased investment we are making in our product lines.”
On passing the baton over to Richard, Sam Pemberton says: “My time at Impero has been extremely fulfilling and I am very pleased to remain involved with the business as it takes its next leap forward. I’ve worked with a fantastic group of colleagues, customers and partners over this period and I step back with a real sense of achievement, that we – as a team – have made a genuine difference to the lives of young people. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank each of them and to wish Richard every success.”
Following an extensive research project this summer, Impero Software is bolstering its global business plan, in order to take the company, and all its stakeholders, to the next level of success. Richard concludes: “I’m thrilled to be taking on this new challenge. With such a passionate team behind me, a great product portfolio, backing from Investcorp Technology Partners and many many ideas for delivering further customer value, it’s an exciting time for everyone connected to the business”.
