An exciting new phase as Safeguarding Monitor is acquired by Impero
We recently shared some exciting news, revealing that we have acquired Safeguarding Monitor. As a Safeguarding Monitor customer we welcome you on board and look forward to getting to know you better over the coming weeks and months. Impero and Safeguarding Monitor have some exciting ideas for collaborative next generation safeguarding solutions and your input and feedback will be called upon as we embark on these exciting developments.
Here at Impero, we provide online safety, network admin and device management software across the global education sector, and our product portfolio is a natural fit for Safeguarding Monitor’s safeguarding system. Our shared vision means that we can continue to create effective solutions that help education professionals to identify and support vulnerable children.
Impero’s flagship product, Impero Education Pro includes comprehensive keyword libraries (developed with schools, charities and specialist organisations) across a range of safeguarding categories outlined in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Designed to identify potential risk, the software captures any instances of key words/phrases/abbreviations/acronyms (plus a glossary definition for context) typed, viewed or accessed anywhere on the network. Any captures flagged in Impero Education Pro can be pushed to Safeguarding Monitor and logged as a concern.
This is explained in this video.

“We use the log viewer on a daily basis and we track students’ activity on the network, which is captured, flagged and escalated to the relevant member of staff – we usually liaise with the safeguarding team a couple of times a week to ensure it’s been brought to their attention and dealt with. It’s designed really well to make sure nothing slips through the net. If you’re on a viewed capture you can see it’s status and the owner attached to it to identify who and how it’s being dealt with. We really like Confide, the anonymous reporting tool; it’s been invaluable for the Senior Leadership Team and also a big plus for Ofsted.”
