Impero’s Safeguarding Seminars 2018
19th December 2018
This autumn we have been very busy hosting two safeguarding seminars, both filled with presentations from our wonderful online safety partners, with plenty of opportunities to better understand the emerging threats affecting young people online today. The theme of this autumn’s seminars focused on the ‘emerging threats and issues for children and young people online’. The events featured speakers from our online safety partners; Wise Kids, Anti-Bullying Alliance, Beat and Harmless, as well as our own online safety specialist. The speakers covered topics like fake news, the prevalence of bullying, eating disorders and suicide – all big issues facing children and young people today. The topics covered and the resources shared we’re really well received by all attendees!
Everyone that attended the safeguarding seminars said they found the event really useful! Here’s some of their feedback:
‘Resources are amazing and so were the speakers!’
‘Great to be given some new sites and ideas. Made me realise the importance of checking policies’.
‘Thank you for a very informative day!’
“The day went very well, sparking discussion throughout the breaks, lunch and after event closed. It acted as a great opportunity to discuss the key issues and trends in education and how Impero can support in early identification”. – Courtney Goodsell, Online Safety Specialist
We would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our speakers; Charlotte Aynsley, Courtney Goodsell, Sangeet Bhullar, Nicola Murray, Tiziana Corsini, Sarah Kessling, Laura Lock and Martha Evans. Without their help this would not have been possible. We are excited to continue working with our online safety partners to keep delivering informative events and benefit our Impero customers.
Overall, this autumn’s safeguarding seminars were really well received by all attendees and speakers. To find out what next year’s seminar theme will be, keep an eye on our events page!
