Impero Software announces new CEO, Justin Reilly

Nottingham, 22nd August 2019 – Impero Software is delighted to welcome Justin Reilly to its executive board, as Richard Fuller moves to the position of Executive Chairman. The announcement comes as Impero heads to end its highest sales month to date, and passes the half year mark, set for record results.

Following Impero’s move to the cloud in January, the opening of a US office in Austin and a series of exciting recent product announcements, Justin has been appointed to steer the business through its next phase of growth. Justin brings with him a wealth of expertise from the global education space, with over 15 years leading EdTech businesses to success.

With an early career teaching Mathematics and ICT, in UK secondary schools, Justin understands firsthand the challenges associated with digital learning, which has been a driving force in his commercial success.  For the past five years Justin has been the CEO of Mwabu Group, one of Africa’s leading EdTech businesses, serving schools and ministries of education in some of the most remote and unstable regions.  Prior to that he was Vice President of Technology Delivery and Strategic Partnerships at Pearson Education and CEO of Fronter AS, a provider of learning management systems.

On the appointment, Justin says, “I am thrilled to be joining the Impero team and very much look forward to hitting the ground running. As the number of devices in education continues to grow, and as student safety becomes more and more of a focus for school leadership teams, the Impero product suite has never been more relevant. I am already full of ideas and can’t wait to start speaking with Impero customers, from all markets, to understand more about their priorities and challenges.”

Justin will work closely with Richard Fuller, now Impero’s Executive Chairman, after his two-year stint as CEO. Richard was instrumental in integrating Impero into Investcorp Technology Partners following their acquisition in 2017. On the changes Richard says, “It has been a busy and exciting two years since I came on board to expand our US presence and launch our cloud offering. Having delivered these initiatives, I am now keen to add value as Executive Chairman, and hand over to Justin who will shape the next steps in our growth strategy.”

Justin starts immediately and will work closely with his new team, over the summer, to plan and strategize ahead of the new school year.
