See what some of our existing customers think of Impero:

This is the best software of its type I have ever encountered. It is easy to set up, a breeze to deploy and absolutely rock solid in operation. I have looked at and used a number of the competitors offerings but for pure power, value for money and ease of use this annihilates the competition. Teachers at ISCCB are over the moon with the level of control and management Impero gives them in the classroom and I, as ICT Systems Manager, am extremely pleased to find software that does exactly what it says it does. I can, and will, heartily recommend Impero to anyone who needs to easily manage their IT suites and internet access.

We have been using NETSupport School for a number of years now and were in the process of renewing our licence when I became aware of Impero. As soon as the trial started to be used it was clear that the product was much better suited to our requirements. The software will make a big difference as it is much easier to administrate than NETSupport and allows for specific staff members to be given only the monitoring rights that they need. Very impressed and will be recommending Impero without hesitation to others. The auto-recording of access violations and complete student logging are particularly nice features and ones which I am sure will prove their worth time and time again.

We evaluated most classroom management products available on the market before making a decision on which one to buy. However only Impero was realistically affordable to us as a medium sized school, not only in terms of purchase price but also ongoing support costs. Deciding to buy Impero was not a cost compromise, it outshone it’s rivals in every department and offered additional functionality too. Try it and see

What a difference Impero makes to your classroom management. The power of this tool is phenomenal. No more time wasters, internet chatters, password or log-on excuses, and gamers in your lessons. Just honest ICT work. Unless you decide otherwise, that is the power.
Steve Poulter,
Henry Mellish School

Impero has made a big change in the classroom. We can now only allow the students to browse certain websites. This is critical for us when teaching ICT as in the past the students would stray off task very quickly and browse inappropriate websites e.g. - gaming, email sites. Without Impero we would be lost. A well-designed interface allowed me to quickly understand how to use the program.

Big Wood School

Impero has changed the way the pupils learn and has improved the behaviour of pupils within ICT lessons. "on task" time has increased and pupils now know not to even try to get around Impero. A must for all schools who use ICT. Impero doesn't need to be used to restrict everything but its great to know you can if needed!

I love the "garden wall" on the internet as well as banning access to programs! We have some programs that need to be installed that the students love playing on and will use instead of doing their work - now I can simply block those! Also fantastic that even if the kids reset the computer Impero still picks the computer back up again - the free package we had with CSE wouldn't do this and so the students found how to get around it!!

My students are much more on task now - and intervention is at a much lower level - they don't seem to question the fact that the internet is banned now as they know they shouldn't have been on it anyway! !

You have actually made it enjoyable to teach ICT again - no more arguing with the students! Bliss!

We have been very impressed with Impero being able to 'drop in' onto pupils’ desktop to see what they are up to. The results have proved to be very interesting and resulted in several detentions and letters home to parents. Being able to block inappropriate windows is invaluable in making use of computers in school secure.

The teaching and technical staff have been impressed by the features, reliability and ease of use of Impero software. We plan immediately to extend the use of Impero throughout the school. Impero has made a big change in the classroom. With the minimum of training, teaching staff can now manage resources to keep students on task. A well-designed piece of software.

We would never consider teaching pupils in a room containing, footballs, chemicals, Bunsen burners, etc., with free access to all equipment. The distraction would be too great to allow serious learning.

In an ICT lab, we do just that. We expect pupils to focus on, for example, the use of absolute and relative cell references in a spreadsheet, while providing them with access to the Internet, games, email, chat and so on.

Impero can remove the distraction and help pupils focus on the task at hand by easily blocking out distracting features.

No more smug looks from pupils thinking they are being clever in checking their email in place of doing the work the teacher has set. Impero enables the teacher in the ICT lab to do exactly what teachers have been doing in traditional classrooms for years, namely to create an environment where pupils focus on the task at hand with no distraction to learning.

Impero offers tools, which transform the work of a teacher trying to manage a lesson in a computer suite. It puts the teacher back in control of the learning environment, allowing the children to be more focused and the teacher more confident in using ICT to support learning, rather than being dominated by the technology.

ICT Lecturer and Author

I have found the Impero Software to be an invaluable classroom management tool. On the first day I used it, I sat at the computer and picked up immediately on students who were off task or on alternative programs. This has resulted in pupils being much more focused, always on task and consequently learning a great deal more. I am now able to help pupils much more on a one to one basis. Other pupils remain on task even though I cannot see them or their screens. They know I only have to glance at Impero to monitor them. It is also useful to pick up on pupils who are struggling (screens don’t change or they are getting left behind). As I said, an invaluable classroom management tool.

Here at Ellis Guilford we are very pleased with Impero. It is so easy to use that our not so technically minded staff have no difficulty in it's use. I particularly like the function of powering down all of the PCs at the end of the day. The monitoring function is very good as is the screen locking capability. I would recommend Impero to anyone.

At Up Holland High School We use Impero to help staff monitor what the pupils are doing and to show the whole class a specific pupils screen. We also use Impero to help staff manage internet access and program access, so if a pupil(s) are playing games on a specific internet site that site can be instantly blocked or if they are using programs that the teacher doesn’t want the pupils to be using then they can also block that. Screens can be locked in order for a member of staff to approach a pupil about what it is he/she is doing at the time of a violation.

Impero is a great way of monitoring your whole classroom at once but from an administrator’s point of view, all of the workstations that you currently have a license for can also be viewed.

All in all Impero is a very useful piece of software to have on your network.

Andy Walker,
Upholland School

Having been frustrated by the complexity and lack of reliability of some of Impero’s (more expensive) competitors, I was delighted to find that Impero was not only easy to use for teaching staff, but also extremely effective in keeping students on task. None of the tricks that students had learned to bypass other network monitoring software work with Impero and the automatic upgrade and ease of installation mean that technical staff can simply install, configure and leave it alone. The facility to log all programs that have been run and all websites that have been visited has already led to some uncomfortable explanations from students, and word is getting round that it is just not worth wasting time in IT based lessons now
